🎮 Fast Gamers, Fast Thinkers: Study Links VR Gameplay and Intelligence 🧠

According to a study by the University of Cologne, the University of Liechtenstein, and Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, virtual reality gamers who finished the game faster than others had higher levels of general intelligence and processing capacity. The study aimed to explore using VR games as supplementary tools in companies for predicting job performance.

The study involved 103 participants who played the commercial VR game “Job Simulator” and completed the short version of the intelligence test BIS-4 under controlled laboratory conditions. The analyses showed a correlation between finishing the game faster and having higher intelligence and processing capacity levels. The results suggest that companies can use VR games to predict job performance.

This research is significant because few studies have investigated the correlation between VR behavior and intelligence. The results also align with the use o’ use of serious games for recruiting. The researchers intend to continue their research on the potential of video games for practical applications, including how people behave towards virtual avatars in the metaverse.

🏆 And the Oscar Goes to...Unanimous AI’s Swarm Platform: A Winning Formula

For the seventh year in a row, Unanimous AI’s Swarm platform, which uses a unique algorithm to harness the collective intelligence of groups of people in real-time, has correctly predicted most Academy Award winners.

Although it correctly predicted 13 of 16 categories last year, it failed to predict the winners of the best picture, original screenplay, and best-adapted screenplay. Despite this, Unanimous AI has been approached by several companies in the entertainment business, who perceive the company’s Swarm intelligence platform as having enormous promise in their industry.

The 94th Academy Awards were held on Sunday, March 12, and Unanimous AI predicted the following:

  • Best Picture: “Everything, Everywhere, At the Same Time”

  • Best Actress: “Everything, Everywhere, At the Same Time”

  • “Anything, Everywhere, All at Once” wins the best original screenplay.

  • Keep an eye out to see if Unanimous AI’s predictions come true during next year’s Oscar Awards.

🚘🔋 Charge up Your Life with EV Charging Powered by AI

Picture a world where your electric vehicle charges at the perfect time and location without input. With the revolutionary Electric Vehicle Charging Optimization system, that world is closer than you think.

This technology uses advanced artificial intelligence to analyze EV usage patterns, energy demand, and grid capacity to predict each vehicle’s optimal charging time and location. By learning from past behavior and adjusting its predictions accordingly, the system reduces charging time and improves the usage of charging infrastructure.

🍴🤖 Energy Hungry AI: The Inconvenient Truth We Can’t Ignore

US scientists believe that artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning systems have a massive energy need that could cause substantial environmental damage. If something needs to be done to rectify this, researchers from the University of Pennsylvania have warned that by 2040, all of the power produced worldwide will be required solely for computing. They also expressed concern over operating carbon emissions from computation, citing that the rise in data centers driven by AI has led data center electricity and carbon emissions to double between 2017 and 2020.
