🗣️ Echoes in the Data Pool When AI Mimics Humans Mimicking AI

Recent research highlights a significant concern regarding the combination of human and artificial intelligence in data processing tasks: workers who traditionally provide critical human perspectives in crowdsourced data are increasingly relying on AI-generated content to complete their tasks, resulting in a phenomenon known as "artificial artificial artificial intelligence."

The industry, popularized by Amazon's Mechanical Turk marketplace, employs approximately a quarter million individuals to perform challenging computer tasks.

Nevertheless, the increasing reliance of these employees on AI to enhance their productivity risks contaminating the data pool, thereby potentially undermining the dependability of AI-based operations.

The concern is especially pertinent given the increasing popularity of large language models, even though humans remain superior at specific tasks. The researchers advocate for innovative measures to guarantee that human data remains human.

🤫 Ant Group's Secret AI Sauce

China's Ant Group is developing its large language model (LLM) called Zhenyi, a spokesperson affirmed in response to Chinese media reports. No additional information was provided regarding its public debut.

This endeavour is consistent with a more significant trend in China, where state-run research institutes have reported that 79 large language models have been launched domestically over the past three years, doubling efforts to develop artificial intelligence algorithms.

⚠️ Biden's Blueprint for AI Is Addressing Risks to National Security and Economy

During a recent meeting in San Francisco, President Joe Biden emphasized the importance of addressing the threats that artificial intelligence (AI) poses to national security and the economy.

He declared his administration's commitment to safeguarding the rights and safety of Americans, protecting privacy, and addressing bias and misinformation in AI systems by pursuing expert advice on these issues.

The significance of ensuring the safety of AI systems before they are released to the public was emphasized significantly.

🕵️ The Deepfake Dilemma

As AI technologies become more pervasive, US states are swiftly instituting regulations to prevent the misuse of deepfakes.

Deepfake images of former President Donald Trump embracing and kissing Dr Anthony Fauci, his ex-chief medical advisor, explicit depictions of Hollywood actresses and internet influencers, and a deepfake photograph of a detonation at the Pentagon have been observed.

These examples demonstrate the urgent need for regulatory measures to address the potential risks posed by deepfake technologies.

🧠 Verbatik: Speak Your Mind

Verbatik is an AI-powered text-to-speech (TTS) generator that converts written text into a natural-sounding voice. With a growing collection of over 600 natural-sounding voices accessible in 142 languages and accents, Verbatik is the ideal solution for anyone who wants to create audio material quickly and effectively.

🤖 The Transformer Model Is AI's Shortcut to Sentence Comprehension

A Transformer model is a neural network architecture for language comprehension that does not require word-by-word analysis but can examine an entire sentence at once. This was an AI advancement because it enabled models to comprehend the context and long-term language dependencies. Transformers employ a technique known as self-attention, which allows the model to concentrate on the particular words that are essential for comprehending the meaning of a sentence.

Heidegger talked about cybernetics as the end of Western metaphysics because, through feedback loops within a system, the organism and the machine, the objective and the subjective, could integrate. Henry Kissinger more recently argued that the advent of AI marks the “end of the Enlightenment” of human-centred philosophy since, like humans, machines can now adapt to their environment by incorporating, through learning from experience, the unexpected events of contingency.
